What is a Main Street Community?
The Historic Olde Town Arvada organization follows the National Main Street Center's Four-Point Approach. The program is a comprehensive revitalization strategy to encourage economic development within the context of historic preservation. Since the early 1980's, the Main Street Program has emerged across the country as a major force in downtown revitalization. The Main Street Four-Point Approach Program encourages development through the work of four active committees in the areas of Design, Economic Enhancement, Organization and Promotions.
Design - Enhancing the physical appearance of our district by rehabilitating historic buildings, encouraging supportive new construction and developing design management guidelines.
Economic Preservation - Strengthening our district's economic base while finding ways to meet new opportunities.
Organization - Building consensus and cooperation among the many groups and individuals who have a role in the revitalization efforts.
Promotions - Marketing the commercial district's assets to customers, potential investors, new businesses, local citizens and visitors.
